The family’s construction roots in Colorado Springs began in 1948, when Buzz Kemper founded Kemper Roofing and Construction. That first company established the foundation for a family tradition built around hands-on experience, practical problem-solving and the responsibility that comes with working on someone’s home.
PIKES PEAK CONSTRUCTION CO. TAKES SHAPE.
In 1968, the business changed directions away from the roofing industry and became Pikes Peak Construction Co. The second generation of contractors joined the company, and it moved into new construction, remodeling and renovations, as well as insurance restoration.
1948 — THE FOUNDATION
Buzz Kemper establishes Kemper Roofing and Construction in Colorado Springs.
1968 — A NEW NAME
The family business becomes Pikes Peak Construction Co. under Buzz and his sons.
THIRD GENERATION — A NEW DIRECTION
The company continues to evolve toward residential remodeling and direct work with homeowners.

As the third generation became part of Pikes Peak Construction Co., the company continued to evolve. We moved away from insurance-related work and focused our experience on residential remodeling—working directly with homeowners to understand what they want from their homes and helping bring that vision to life.
The type of work may have changed over the years, but the foundation hasn’t: listen to the customer, do the work right and build something we’re proud to put our name on.

Today, Pikes Peak Construction Co. continues to build on the experience passed down through three generations. What began with our family’s construction roots in 1948 has evolved into the residential remodeling company we are today.
We continue to focus on the things that have always mattered: listening to our customers, doing quality work, communicating clearly and creating homes that better reflect the way the people who live in them want to live.
